Throughout my fishing career I have used several different rod and reel combo’s.  From Zebco bass slammer’s to fin-nor elite series, I’ve caught fish on rods and reels of all different shapes and sizes.  Some of them have been great while others left something to be desired. In the most recent years I have been using Shimano products for the majority of my fishing needs and have been very pleased with their craftsmanship and performance.

I am currently using the Shimano Stradic 2500 reel on a Clarus spinning rod with 40lb. PowerPro. Although 40lb braid sounds a little heavy, I like the security of knowing that if I pitch my favorite spinner in the oysters or reeds, the chances are good I’m getting it back. This combination allows me cast extremely long distances with minimal effort.  In addition to PowerPro’s awesome sensitivity and overall strength, Shimano rounds out the deal with the perfect amount of rod action in the Clarus series for handling those monster reds!

Shimano builds equipment to function in the harshest of conditions and withstand the constant abuse of the avid angler. My Stradic 2500 has given me consistent performance no matter how hard I am on my equipment. From banging around on the Jon boat floor chasing reds and flounder, or tossing it in the back of the truck to hit up my favorite local bass ponds, My Stradic 2500 continues the give me the smooth consistent performance I have come to expect.
